Had it checked and it's fine?

I have red that this will fix it (below) - But it's very tappity! Thick oil? can you suggest anything to quite her down?

Solution: Drain oil from engine (remove bung in sump), before you remove sump, there's 3 bolts that go through the gearbox housing into the sump. Remove these. Remove sump (Allen key). There's no gasket between sump and engine. Rub old sealant off rim. You will be able to see right up into the engine at this point. There is a small pipe going from the oil pump into where the sump was. This pipe is normally sitting in the oil and it sucks up oil from the sump into the oil pump when the engine is started. The pipe is fixed to the oil pump with one Allen-key head screw and a rubber O-ring. Remove this and take off the pipe. The gauze filter is at the end of the pipe. Try and get a replacement from a motor-factor. Alternatively, you can clean it out well using petrol. Clean the sump well with petrol.
Replace all parts in reverse order! The job took about 3 hours to do and the car drives like a rocket now! If you're not confident enough to do all of this yourself get someone you know that's used to working on engines.

Tbh a new pick up pipe is around £12 if you have no record of it being changed then fit a new one.

I took the sump off my old engine that had done 152k and it looked spotless. Dunno if it had been changed previously but there was no receipt in my pack for it being done (pack contains everything including old tax reminders, tyres fitted, wing mirror glass etc etc). The new lump which has covered 110k is also spotless as I changed the gasket and had a look for piece of mind. Definately worth doing though, again for piece of mind.

I hope it was only the sump you jet washed!! You really dont want water in your internals.

Make sure you get a new gasket too.

Jet washed the engine? You really think I would jet wash the bottom of an engine?

Anyways, After a flush, sh!te oil run through,  new oil, pipe cleaned and a new oil pressure sensor it's as good as new.......

I never used to use Engine flush... but running some cheap oil through it for an hour after brings out more crap... worth another £6
