Spot on.
Firstly keep in mind that anyone buying private with that sort of money is out for a bargain.
Secondly most people spending around £20k on a car will need some sort of finance and will have a car to get shot of themselves. So they will generally go to a dealer unless as above, they spot a bargain.
Pistonheads is a good place to look for sporty stuff but it is a nightmare to wade through. Autotrader is trusted and easy to navigate. Push the car's condition and how well you looked after it in the advert. Pictures sell cars though. Yours are very good, but as above, you need interior shots too.
Be patient, there aren't that many people with £20k to spend on a second hand car in this present climate (depending on where you live etc).
See what a dealer offers you and price it about a grand above that and be prepared to take about £500 above the dealer price would be my educated guess. GTIs are dropping heavily at the moment, and so are many other things.
