the engine management light came on after a week of taking ownership, got my mate to scan her with vagcom and turned out coils 1 and 3 was dodgy, but 2 and 4 was ok even though all 4 was cheap euro car parts specials.decided to change all 4 with genuine parts, replaced them, rescanned and resetted with vagcom and running spot on.so i decided to wash the engine bay at work using jizer as a degreaser and jet washed it all off

bay on the day i got her

bay after a good clean

decided not putting the cover back as it just looks better this way

after all this the reverse lights stopped working, checked all the fuses and bulbs-nothing to be found and then it hit me,had the same issue when had my vr6 so replaced the sensor on the gear box and hey hey got it working again.this got me in a happy mood so i decided to change the horrible wallnut wood effect trim-diy spray job which tunred out quit nice

pass door handle

driver door handle

centre console bits, ashtray and gear knob

and the heater swicthes didn't light up so replaced the bulb and at night its  again

on start up the golf sounded like a henry hoover being red lined like a type r honda.it was coused by the vacuum pump,so had to get it sorted and thanx to the search option i got it done with bolts and nuts i got free from work.vacuum system soon to be removed when i feel up to it

then i decided to got a new gear knob and gaiter from the stealers, the wood effect one wich i sprayed black started getting scratched to easily.
