Back to the topic at hand, it is possible to flash the AGU's with a 'cheap' tool such as the MPPS (my personal favourite from the cheap toolbag)

You just need to give one of the pins a 12v supply (I think pin 13 from memory) but of course I'm sure Nick already knew that

IMO mpps best vag tool for the price,  it will flash a agu in 2mins about the same amount of time it took to get the wipers off with the old method. :-).  I know the tool developer very well, same guy who produced the original KWP2000.

The price they where selling it for was £20 for the tool plus 75 for the map file, however as r-tech said and the guy from the company just confirmed it will not work with the AGU so grrrrr
He went on to expalin if i removed my ecu, opened it up, de-souldered the chip it could then be done....but sod that..lol
