Hi guye been having problems with car recently, we have done a recent head rebuild and were struggling to get car to star.

We have finally got car to start but it will only start if you manually inject fuel in to the throttle body. The injectors are injecting but for some reason the car wont start with just them alone.

I have been reading up and seen that some people have had problems with a faulty ECU and it messing up the way the injectors work. I have managed to get a new ECU to try tomorrow.

If this solves the problem then GREAT NEWS But if not what do i then start to look for??

Fuel Pump / Relay
Fuel preasure regulator
Air flow meter
injectors
???

You need spark compression and fuel. You have fuel. Check spark and compression + air leaks, if it all worked before taking it apart. Guessing its an 8v digi?

Can you hear the fuel pump buzz when the ignition is on?

if the fuel pumps run,    check the injectors are getting 12v

steady up scrap that.    change of plan,  you've had the cyl head off....

take the fuel ines off the fuel rail and swap them over   sounds like there on the wrong way round.     if your trying to shove fuel up the outlet of the pressure reg it ain't going to go
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

The injectors are doing something, only 1 fuel line come off while head off kept the other attached to the fuel pressure regulator, it seams like the injectors are flooding or not responding as they should, fuel is getting through so doubt it's fuel pump but possible.
