powdercoat it the same colour as your pipes

I wondered whether this might look good to.

Yeah this had crossed my mind as well, I'll photoshop it later and see what it looks like!

With the help of a mate earlier I stripped down the front coilovers to try and solve the knocking from the offside strut.

Due to JOMs being designed to be serviceable they have a 'nut' which holds the shock in place inside the strut:

This works loose causing play in the strut and an annoying knocking! Although it was only a problem on the offside we stripped both coils down and applied threadlock to both nuts and rebuilt them again.

The offside had leaked a little bit of oil due to the movement in the shock

While the coilovers were off it would have been rude to not wind them down a little more

I'm really pushing how low it can go with the standard ARB now :undecided:

Is the shock a complete insert, if so a little oil will not hurt as it will stop it rattling.

Yeah it is, the nearside one was bone dry though. Apparently you can replace the JOM shocks with Koni inserts....something that might be a worthwhile upgrade.

In theory that little cap stops the rattling by holding the shock in place

Hope you curb a wheel!

Car is looking awesome

Still think you should do a red underlay and black crackle over it!! I'm not saying it again, do it!!

Whenever I have fitted inserts, I always use a little oil or even antifreeze they do tend to rattle otherwise.

At a reasonable height the ride is actually pretty good, I dropped mine about 15mm earlier and that made a big difference to the comfort. When they get low, they get bouncy like all cheap coilovers.

That said the ride is no worse than a mate's MK2 running KW V2's that are would all the way down.
