That my friend is why I had to stop modding.  It was getting me more and more in debt, and I knew if I didn't stop I wasn't going to be in a "happy place"   Even ended up selling my wheels, US spec lights and entire turbo back blueflame system.  Part of me regrets is massively, but at the same time I actually have a chance of clearing my debts now.

Just take it easy with the mods and there's no reason you can't enjoy the car.  Mine's paid for in March, so until I can't justify running petrol over diesel any more, I'll hold onto it.

Wise words and totalling that up has made me realise how much it actually adds up! I've got some essentials to sort like the boost issue and dogbone mount but other than that everything is on hold until the new year when xmas is out of the way & i've got a bit more cash

My modding (and essential repairs) cost me close to £3k before I realised what I was doing

About 2, maybe 2.5 years.  Mostly under the surface stuff though.  £650 on alloys and tyres, hundreds on turbo's which later got sold on, suspension, TIP, etc etc, so many things.  Plus I had to pay £330 getting the waterpump replaced (thus cambelt) and £250 to get a door module replaced.

I can almost hear Wayne's pain.....

And I've seen Dom's.....

At the end of the day they are old motors and you (we) are asking them to do a lot

I know you want that 50 plus mpg Dom  :nerd:

The majority of my spending has been on 'bits & pieces' which don't look like much by themselves but when you add them all up.....

You get my PM btw?

Spent well over £3K on my MK3.

It's got a poorly painted matte black wing, a poorly painted gloss rear bumper, CL front bumper, a Golf front with a Vento bonnet and now loads of marks, scuffs and siwrls on the paint and loads of car park dents.

Can't wait til April when it will be garaged, tidied up and a weekend only car and I can use whatever car I've bought to sell during the week.

Where all my moneys went.

Golf MK3 1.6. Golf MK3 8v GTI.
