Motorbike related advise needed

Hi all, I'm considering getting a 125 motorbike, prob aprilia rs125. I kno a couple of people on here had them, so any advise would be appreciated, spesh trying to see if it would be cheaper to run than my car, how much does it cost to fill the tank? And how many miles would you get for that? Cheers darren

Them Cagiva things were pretty quick for 125's. 7 gears didnt they?

However small the engine, i wouldnt ride a motorbike it shorts you nutter lol   :grin:

Wife get`s about 60 miles for about four and half quid of petrol a month.

That`s on a 50cc scooter..

thats not bad, i think the 125's are about double thouse figures, £10 to fill up (poss lil bit more due to rise in fuel costs) and about 100 miles ish to a tank

two stroke race reps area  high maintenance bike  lots of fun when you rev the nuts off it but not good around town  :cry:

need to use high quality two stroke oil and be brought up to temp before using  :shocked:
it will  need a top end re-build every 8-10000 miles or so   :sick:

if you can live with the wrist and back ache go for it they are amazing  :smiley:

i ran an rs125 for a year  a couple of years ago (when fuel was cheaper) and was spending about 20-30 quid a week plus regular maintence to stop it blowing up. great fun bikes but if you want a comuter then you have to get a four stroke, either a yzf r125 or a cbr 125
