Boge/sachs shocks and eibach sportline springs

I currently have boge turbo front shocks and sachs advantage rear shocks on my 16v which have covered 47k.

My question is would they be able to handle some eibach sportline springs which drop 45-50mm or would I need to upgrade the shocks as well?

I have used the search function and some people have said they have done this but seems like quite a large drop on a standard non-shortened shock.

Eibach sportlines should only drop it approximately 40mm, the Prokits are 30mm. I know this as im currently running sportlines myself.
Drops of up to 40mm are fine with standard length shocks, anything more is too much for them to cope with and should really have uprated and shortened shocks/struts.
I've got Weitec shortened ones with my Eibach but if your standard boge ones are still healthly then I'd go for it.
It's worth changing the top mounts whilst you're doing them as well for piece of mind.

Pro kit is 30mm all round which don't think will be enough as I understand 16v GTI is already 15mm lower so real drop would be only 15mm is this right?

How do you find the sportline springs are they a harsh ride?

Yes it would be an extra 15mm drop.

That's the reason I chose the sportlines over the pro kit on my 16v.

Anybody actually run boge turbo shocks and eibach sportline springs? Just dont want to go through the hassle of having to change my shocks if they wear out after a couple of months.

Sorry to butt in on your thread, I was looking at purchasing some used Eibach sportline spings and boge turbo gas shocks, to put on my 8v, would the drop be noticable?

Yes, personally I think it sits just right now.
