I'm not supprised your cars been in and out the garage a few times. My sisters other half has just left a flagship audi dealer as he is sick of their unrealistic targets for carrying out servicing and repair works. He was a senior master technician their and often had to knowingly send cars out with faults as management would not allow them the additional time required to fix them correctly. The final straw was then they sent letters to the technicians telling them if they didn't meet targets three months in a row they would get a written warning. Seems unfair to me for what audi charge their customers!

I work with trucks and our garage is much the same. Where once the standards of service were well above the minimum now they are at the legal minimum. Any faults are bodged and left until the vehicle either becomes illegal to drive or the fault lets go big time.

Bang goes your staff VAG discount now Martin! Who does the brother in law work for now?

Yep the downside for me is loosing the VAG discount . His gone to work for a family run Vauxhall dealership (for a wee bit more money as well)..... and no I'm not going to buy a Vauxhall now!

Modern VW's seem a bit pants. My Unlce and a friend have both got 2010 Polo's and both spend most of their time at the dealers. I think there's just too much technology in them these days.

I hope your new engine is a good one.

Been given a brand new polo as a courtesy car also.... the build quality on this thing is shocking!!!!

Water quite easily flows in through the drivers door side. Water splashing everywhere as I am going around corners!

I would NEVER get a new VW again.  :undecided:

Gilly
VWs are great cars, well built and reliable (mostly), the Polos are fine for what they are.

16k no problems, no problems with the mk5 (20k), a few minor ones with the mk4 (80k) all sorted under warranty from a brilliant dealer.

You hate your car and it hates you back.

GTI karma.
Mk7 GTI. DBP, DCC, Winter pack. Mine since new, July 2013.
GTI no. 4. Golf no. 5.  VW no. 7.
