A agu 1.8t.Its back at garage at moment.Just dont want them to try and shaft me.Abs light no longer comes on after i fiddled around by the pump.I changed the maf and cleaned up the ignition amflifier but it still runs like sh!te.Doesnt seem to have lost power when driven hard but the sound on tickover is appalling.Been popping a bit and smells a bit rich when idling.cheers jay

Well it sounds like they have done something so they should sort it.

They have now said the the top end is getting starved of oil and there is likely a blockage. They would take off the sump and rocker cover to find the blockage because it is internal.I can understand this because of the tapping but the misfire was found immediately after an oil change.I dont think they have a f**kon clue what is wrong. They can look at it monday.Wonkers.cheers jay

That will be your oil pump pick up pipe blocked, cheap and easy to sort.

You need to remove the sump to clean pick up pipe not that hard to do
