Lesson learned, move on!

Got to agree, that's not the reply I would have sent :undecided:

Just thinking the same,

Theyve given you a complete refund for your clutch, what else do you expect them to do except an apology and maybe discount in the future as a goodwill gesture?

so youd be more then happy to splash out twice as much in labour costs??? you must be silly. you cant let them walk over you. it was their mistake as i asked for a clutch for my car. the invoice has my reg so they gave me the part that came up on their system. not my problem :undecided:
i think i might just go to the store and speak with mr peter and show him the damages. the starter has loads of play in it.

Its like you going to a mechanic and he messes your car up and says tuff sh1t mate. you going to stand for that shiz?? you will try your best to get the most you can to cover your costs.

no, i would have compared the old to new, and heeded the advice of the mechanic who told you they were different, and then not fitted the clutch.

Chuff taught me the following...

When you take the old part off, preferably before you take the old part off, take the new part out of the box and compare the two... if they aren't EXACTLY the same then take the new part back.. if you cannot get the 'correct' part then get a refund and look elsewhere.

had this problem a couple of times with a certain motor Factor that deals with cars from Scandanavia and Germania.. in one instance the incorrect part was in the correct box.. in another it was just totally wrong. (this doesn't include my suspension springs fiasco)

just be ultra careful when dealing with factor parts... and of course no more caps lock

Edit: Totaly lost you on the starter motor explanation

I would also want labour charges if they supplied the wrong parts .

ECP have cost me a lot of time with the wrong parts but ive always been compensated. Lucky I dont need to go to a garage these days.

bit of an update:

i went to ECP took the starter motor and spoke with the manager.
after an hour of explaining everything and how the friction plate, clutch and flywheel assemble, he then admitted that it was their fault for supplying the incorrect part. he pulled out a SCREW DRIVER to see the diffrence between my friction plate and the wrong one and there was a few mm diffrence in there. he then was willing to pay me £150 i advsied him that i had to get a mobile mech out then he had to get the recovery out as the car had no gears and then he had to take gearbox of and replace the clutch which he charged me £225 for all that work and he also had to fault find the problem before he said that the clutch was incorrect. anyway i am not sitting on £150 as that dont evern cover my costs. onop of that the starter motor is fecked.

so i am happy at one point that they have admitted that it was there fault but not happy on the offer. so i going to speak to head office and get the full wack out of them. as i could get to work and that my car was off the road for 2weeks.
