GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

I spoke to Superchips last week, who had a Mk6 Git (manual, not DSG) as a company car. They stuck it on the rolling road and found that it gave 230-odd hp, and after their ECU remap it gave 275 hp. They reckon the higher standard bhp was due to it being a manual. Wonder how much mine gives out?
After a good service it may/should perform a little better due to the service eg oil change, filter changes etc etc. But to feel an enhanced performance after a service is good news, I might take mine to your place !!!

Expand please. Okay hand-made engines (i.e Nissank GTR) I can understand, but why the variation in bhp on machine built ones (to similar spec etc)....?

Manual vs DSG.
95RON vs 99 RON.
VW being a little more conservative with figures compared with Ford/Vauxhall/French.

A superchipped/bluefinned GTI is simply amazing.

Not saying all GTIs put out this bhp, just that it's possible.

I've seen a few companies talking about high numbers on stock GTI's - Evo did when they did the RS v GTI v Megane V Leon, all three were up on standard apart from the RS that was down.

I've seen higher numbers from stock cars from Revo and Superchips.  I know some people inflate the figures for their own purpose but....
