Wrong...... Primer offers hardly any protection against water.  If the cars not covered get some red oxide on it.. Cover would be ideal though.

Yup it's porous, event a waft over with some top coat to seal it would be advisable.  You'll be flatting it back for the proper finish anyway.  I keep a big can of satin black handy just for this kind of stuff.

Just make sure its dry and wack some top coat on, the satin black idea is a good one.

Yep, think a trip to the local paint suppliers is in order for tomorrow morning, then get out the heat gun on the panels before spraying the black on
