The chips are rubbish I got one and took it out same week smoothed engine buy no real difference on speed and it drank fuel :(

Nothing wrong with the chips, Its all down to who writes the software which is burned on to the chip.. and its down to how good the engine is running, breathing, plugs/gaps and HT leads.   Like Wayne said there are lots of BAD mapped chips floating around,  on the other hand there are tuners who get it right and provide a good mapped chip.
You comment is off putting for forum members who are looking to have the mk3 mapped up, I have been chiptuning for close on to 15 years now and all my old skool chip tune customer have come back with newer cars to be tuned after having a good experience with a chip tune.

Where did you get your chip from? and do you know if the software was the correct code for your ecu or was it and all for one which? I say this because for most ecus there will be around 20+ software versions.

Nick

The cam, assuming you are going to get a sensible deg of upgrade, will make the difference.
