I picked up a White Gti 11 plate in July,it has front LED fairy lights and rear LED.I thought the number plate is LED standard but not on mine. However just wanted to let you all know I sent off to convert2xeon for a set of some and they have a resister pack built,no faults indicated. They only cost £38.72 including postage.Hope this is helpful to some if you.
Ps I have the sat nav and was wondering why sometimes I get the VW logo when i switch ignition on and sometimes ni

I installed a pair of LED plate lights on my GTD yesterday, along with a pair of resistors. I bought the lot off Kufatec.de. No bulb-out errors (so far!).

They were a little cheaper for the light fittings than the main stealers, but their delivery charges are a tad high, so overall it wasn't that cheap. I'm pleased with the look though.

LED number plate lights are part of the 2012 model year spec and I think VW start building these around week 22. If you got your GTD at the beginning of July, it was probably built just before the changeover to 2012 MY spec.

I missed out on them by just one week! My car was built on week 21.

I remember you posting your car was built a week early. My GTD was built on week 23 and as you say the LED plate lights finish it off nicely.

There's a thread that was posted by evo1986 earlier this year which gave details of the spec changes for Model Year 2012. Do a search on '2012 changes' (thread title is 2012 changes..................BW22 model year 2012 MY12). Gives details of engine and spec changes for MY2012 so should help you determine if your car is a 2011 or 2012 model.
