Just ordered a set.
Part no IK8943021C

Dealer said he would reset if an error code comes up.

already been done, it just keeps reappearing, you need a gold resistor thing across the loom to fool the canbus.

If you read my link to another forum posted earlier in this thread, then the links from that i posted to a German forum. It seems under discussion in Germany that with the mk6 some seem to work error free by turning off the cold diagnostics option for the rear numberplate lights in VCDS but some it does not seem to work error free for that long... The cars that are coming out the factory with them fitted have a new software version 615 or higher so i wonder if theres an extra setting for them the old software does not have?
The crude way is to just fit resistors.

I miss the days when you could just bolt parts on your car without having to reprogramme a bloody computer

I'm probably jinxing myself now but I bought the LED lights from Alltronix and I was having LED errors on and off but since I messed around with the coding in VCDS I have not had any errors.

Now don't ask me what I did - I can't check as I borrowed Sam's VCDS cable to do the work - all I know is that I reset my lights back to 000 after our attempt to remove the error created more errors in the main rear light units.

Ouch! It's definitely something I want to do too, but I'm trying to get my hands on an RNS 510 and some decent cleaning products, so my budget is whacked for now

Post some pics / info when you get them though, I'd be interested in whether you get the dash light warnings and if the dealer can clear them.

I ordered some genuine VW ones but they've still not landed
Doc, Any news? Did they work out the box or did you have to fit a resistor to load the cct.
