Mk 6 - Common Issues
« on: 09 June 2011, 19:34 »
Don't know if this thread has been started before but I thought I'd like to list the Mk 6 common issues which some/many of us have encountered but won't have looked at by VW as they might create a mile out of a molehill:

Mine is a GiT
1. Rustling noise from under the car (exhaust) when accelerating
2. When first in the car and turn the knob for folding wing mirrors to open, it doesn't initially happen
3. NEW TO ME - When switching the climatic control on initially (therefore low, one bar) the 'display' of this remains on the screen unless I move the fan speed up or down

Any others?

As neither Wolfgang nor I are common, so we don't suffer with these issues.

Mk6 1.4GT - problem....engine doesn't work

Apart from that, it's ok

Doesn't work? Might that have something to do with the 214hp youre running?

Not related. It only has a map. Engine doesn't work due to coil pack issues..

sounds like similar issues to mine.. coil pack, spark plugs, contaminated petrol (apparently)... the list goes on :lipsrsealed:

They say a Dutch Cap is more effective.
Hope you solve this long standing problem.

Yep...had all of that..injectors, fuel pump, poor quality fuel blah blah blah.. Crap products ? They didn't mention that weirdly

Did you remove the remap prior to taking it to them?
