mk4 speaker setup
« on: 04 April 2005, 21:03 »
hi all

looking to upgrade my speakers in the doors not sure what to go for.  any ideas???
i was thinking alpine but you seem to get a low rms for quite high prices

and is it difficult to run the amp power cable from the front to the back or is it worth paying £40 to get it ran through for me

any thoughts peeps

I was in the same dilemma not so long ago, decided it would be best to get someone else install the power cable, and the door speakers (partly laze). it cost me £60 to get the speakers, head unit, and boot cabels installed.

Speaker wise i have got a full alpine install:
2 x Alpine Type R 12"
2 x Alpine M350 amp
2 x Alpine SPR-176 door speakers
Alpine MRVF-407 (AMP)
Alpine CDA-7893R (HU)

As long as your not after any base out of the door speakers go for the alpines, the crossovers do a great job and as long as you have a decent sub and amps to produce the base.

i haven't done it but people have suggested getting Dynamat behind the speakers( less vibrations).
