Help water in my boot arrgghh

afternoon all just wondering if anyone had any ideas ,gone to get tool underneath carpet in the boot where the spare tyre is and the carpet was soaked in the corner :sad:,any help appreciated,have change the rear light already as one of the fixings was broken and the seal seemed okay,cheers brett

Try pushing on the rear light(s) with your body weight and one hand, while tightening up the screws with your other, pushing your weight over each screws area in turn. I found mine had managed to untighten because I hadn't screwed them up enough while cleaning moss out from behind my rear lights, so seal was fine, but a rather large gap :)

is it a sunroof model? some older cars channel leaks to the rear of the car. check the roof lining for signs of dampness.

yeah it does have a sunroof will also have a look at that  ,that one could be the money shot lol,cheers for all your help chaps

oh well guess what i'll be doin tomoro lol,after i been to vw and collected my tensioner bolt for power steering belt as mines feckin rounded and the belts squeekin like a biatch grrrrrr

Pickup a pair of new seals from VW they are not expensive also do not overtighten the bolts as you will crack the light.

yeah be careful with the tightening as you can snap the studs too. I have had the same problem. the foam seal seems to act like a sponge and soak in the water and then release it into the boot.
