Temp sender to blame for leak!
« on: 04 June 2011, 16:43 »
So after cleaning all the crap off the top of the oil cooler started the car and the leak wasn't from the gasket but from the rear temp sender at the back oil just started to trickle down the back!

So im assuming its the o ring has perished im really annoyed as i could of bloody got the part this morning but that said i have got an adjustable spanner so cant even remove the temp senders to check the o rings etc

Will have to wait till my brother gets home with his tools!

In the end my mate chris up the road had a spare one

But the oil light is still flashing? The one i removed which was closest to the engine was black, now not sure if this was due to it being broken and oil coming through it but the one i replaced it with was white like the on at the front

that is cos one is high pressure, one is low thus the warning going off.

need another black/brown one.

It won't do any harm purely using it as a plug, but you won't have the warning from it you should have should you develop a fault
