Pick up a cheap Skoda Octavia RS as a donor car, then sell what you don't need.

180bhp standard and really good on fuel.

A4 is no good as a donor as the engine is the wrong way.

wouldnt bother with a Vr lump personally, too heavy and not that quick for the hassle but thats just my opinion, iv got the S3 lump going in mine as we speak, and with the mods iv got for it, i will have between 260 -280 BHP which will do untill i get a LSD

if you want V6 noise, fit a 4mo engine or a R32

s3 engine is out of price range for the minute (can only find ones that are like a grand!) so looks like i'm going for a vr6 and doing that up to the bollocks like.

whats your budget exactly? I got my 150bhp AUM for £800 which was expensive but I was impatient lol, but the conversion probably cost me around £2800-£3000, you need a lot more than just an engine

Try and get your hands on a rear ended mk4 or a3, take then engine etc out and sell the rest for parts and the conversion will pretty much buy itself, depending on what you start with you'll just need a sport cat/de-cat, downpipe, bigger bore exhaust (eg 16v jetex system) and other small bits and pieces

If you wanna do things on the cheap I'd advise getting an AGU, its 150bhp same as the AUM but only has the K03 turbo as opposed to the K03s in the AUM. Its easier to put into a mk3 though as its cable throttle so theres no messing about with putting electronic pedals into the mk3, and you can swap to the K03s later on for more power :)
20vt conversion, sig pic coming soon!

Defo get a 1.8t. as said vr is waste of time.

I love the sound of my vr6! big Simota open carbon induction kit, just a backbox on the exhaust. sound amazing.

I will be buying a r32 next and not a Audi S3 even though with a few parts and a remap the S3 will be far quicker.
