When is the next Rolling Road day?
« on: 30 May 2011, 13:35 »
When is the next rolling road day that you are arranging Doc?

I see there is the R-Tech day 19th June is that the same or similar?

My main reason it I read on here but I can't find it at the moment that because of the DPF problems VW are having they did a software update they say removed 20bhp of the GTD. I would like to see it 20bhp has been removed of mine if it has then I will be suing VW because if your paying for a 170PS motor and they now reduce this through no fault of my own then that contravines the sale of goods act.

From the reading I've done it was only on the PD engines and not the CR engines found in the MK6.  Also Doc has mentioned that there has been no reduced power output on his rollers when run in 3 / 4 /5th gear which is where the quoted output is found

Well I read its the GTD that looses 20bhp not the old PD engine Rhyso. I say I've searched for this statement but I can't find it now.

I too was only aware of the PD 170s having the DPF issues and consequently the 26E6 software ECU updates that killed the power.

Only the Audi A3 / MK5 PD 170 engines Keith

Apparently they killed the power in 1st and 2nd gears and increased the frequency of the DPF regeneration cycles.  That's what Iv'e read across the forums  :undecided:  Forgot to ask Audi if mine had the latest software revision when it was in for a service the other week   Not that it will matter come the end of the year  :lipsrsealed:

Hope this helps.

GTD / 170 CR engines - every one that I have had on the DYNO has made 170PS give or take 3PS.

I have a bypass pipe in development for the 170 CR - more to follow when it's tested fully.

The old 170 PD's are fine once the old DPF has been bypassed.

I've got a 170 A4 and a 170 passat in next week, both of which are PD engines so I'll DYNO them both prior to DPF removal and report my findings.

Keith if you want to come over I'll check your motor for you

One thing that confuses me is is it a bypass pipe or a replacement pipe for the DPF?

I assume its like decatting the MK4 Golf's; whip the car out and stick the decat in?

Sorry if I've been vague

We remove your old DPF and give it back to you complete and fit a custom made non DPF pipe in it's place.

The passat will be getting one of these Linky: http://www.millteksport.com/media.file.cfm?fileid=555
