central locking

not long just brought my first car p reg mark 3 gti 8v.. am i supposed to have central locking? because mines not working if i am? thanks matt.

Fairly easy to tell your keys would have a locking button on them

Nah, it a mk3, remote central locking was a dealer fit option only.

Have a look in the mk3 section, its a common problem for the central locking to not work.

1. Check you have a pump, its in a box under the drivers side taillight.
2. Check fuse 21.
3. Listen for pump whirring when you turn the key.
4. Check for breaks or leaks in the pipes between all the doors.

There's a few places for you to start. The list is almost endless. Try using the search.

Pump failure is common or pipe broken somewhere.
