rear squeeking

Right so finally got the golf on the road but there is some loud squeeking coming just from the rear. Changed the suspension to JOM coilovers wondering have I put them on wrong? Or is it something to do with the rear axle maybe?

is it all the time or when going over bumps etc? bushes? did you fit new rear top mount rubbers?

Could be beam bushes or rear top mounts.

Might also be worth spraying the coilovers with grease and see if that helps.

i had this with with mine thought it would be the rear beam bushes but replaced the rear rubbers top and bottom and sprayed the coilovers and no squeaking.

did u tighten the top hat bit down before fittting?

When you change to coilovers, or lowering springs, you should... loosen the bolts that locate the rear beam to the body! the rubber bushes are winding up, as the car gets lower! Loosening the bolts will allow the rubber bush to re set itself, then re tighten, this must be done with the wheels on the ground, a struggle to do on the ground, but a doddle on a 4 poster ramp... whether it squeaks or not, this should be done, before it rips the rubber bush to bits!
