In love with the wheel and speaker covers above. Anyone tell me what they're named / model they came with?

And I think this thread needs to be revived

I believe them tweeters are part of the nokia sound system, fitted as an option in germany and not sold in the UK

vw sold many special edition models throughout various markets like the uk ad the rolling stone for example (thanks to vw uk sponsering the rolling stones uk tour). The Uk also got the anniversary of 750 units, germany got it's own 20jahre model of 1000 units.
there is a full list on dopple-wobber.de (I think thats the site?) which shows the unique spec fitted to the ltd ed's

I have fitted mid/tweeter speakers in the dash and the standard covers fit over them, so you dont need those!

Cars not an import. R reg GTI 8v from Wayside VW new in 1998.

Admittedly the light only works now and again but its there.

Maybe the previous owner fitted it as I have a few OEM extras on my car and tasteful mods life boot struts fitted to lift bonnet etc.

It will be a South African built car, they have some strange things factory fitted

chassis number (well the letters) will confirm that,

also vw did have a habbit of fitting what ever parts they have to hand when on the production line!

so i have sourced a few parts like climbtronic,

No! lol

I guess you mean climate control panel, are you aware that it is major work to get that working and more than the panel is needed.

yes mate, i have got everything the vents, the heater box with a new matrix...................and yeah tell me about the work involved!! haha but it will make it a tad more special as i am planning to keep the car for a long time as a weekend car so i know it will take a while so not in a rush

It will be a complete ballache to get it in and working, the dash has to come out etc, is it really worth it.  :undecided:

Of course it will be, I'm trying to locate it for my anniversary, as both my previous long term mk3 vr6s had climatronic.
