Hi guys. Odd little problem... just recently noticed my rear fog light symbol on the clocks is lighting up when I press the brakes. I notice it more with the lights on at night so the clocks are illuminated... but does it all the time, just can't see it in daylight. It lights the rear fog light symbol up just faintly and a bit flickery.

(Really crap) Video of what I mean:

Any ideas? :)

Thanks.

it sounds like your stop lamps are not earthed properly and are earthing through the fog lamp, meaning a little bit of current is passing through them, enough just to illuminate the symbol a little.

I'd say earth too, have a good check to see if anything is up with the wiring around the light area in the boot

Yep I have some corrosion going on.

I checked the passenger side rear light and it had a little bit of rust on the connections but nothing too bad, then went to check the drivers side and couldnt get the connector off, so left it...then was told none of my lights worked on that side. Oops!

So I persevered and got the connector off and it's pretty rusty, I need to get it cleaned up somehow today and will WD40 it aswell.

Can I use anti-rust spray on it or best to try and clean with some kinda sandpaper then WD it? I had to put the connector back on as wasn't at home and it was at night but alas after some wiggling to make it work the fog light symbol hasn't come on so it'll definitely be that.

Thanks guys :)
