Don't forget much better on fuel too
I'd never have ordered my car with the 17's but after living with them I love them to bits, they never look dirty and I can get the new goodyears for 110 quid a corner fitted.....
If I get another Golf GTD I'd stick with the 17's if I get a gti then I'd have to go for the 18's for the looks alone.

I should not be talking to you. You are keeping a secret from me.

Prey tell Sir, what is this secret you speak of?

I've had an embarrassing amount of compliments about my car.

Wearing 17" and proud of it

You'd get even more with the extra inch

The secret of your replacement for the GTD.

This is what set me off.

I'm on 17's, I'd have upgraded to the 18's if I would have gone for the 18's but having lived with the 17's I love them, what's mor I can get the goodyears for £110 fitted per corner
If I buy another GTD then it will be on 17's again.
But I won't be buying another MK6 diesel golf

Yes Sir, I don't know where that post went (globals?) hence I re-posted.

I've said few times on here that my next day to day car will most likely be a golf R, The ED35 was also in th running but I'm a little underwhelmed by it.

I love the GTD, the common rail 2.0 is super sweet and it's also been a great learning tool for work but seeing as I'm based back at our HQ again I no longer need the extra economy afforded by the GTD.

FYI I won't be changing the GTD for at least a year

Doc, you are a man after my own heart

Indeedy, I'll be ordering a Golf R too......with 19"ers

and of course lightweight alloys for the track in 18"s as the 17"s won't usually fit over the brakes

Do you not think the 19" will be too slow for you even for normal road use?
