Well that's 5.5 bar, which off the top of my head sounds alrite.. It will lower when warm, and increase with rpm. The important one to check is hot idle. Use the search button I'm sure rj has listed all the figures you need a few times now..

Ok thanks lol right I got hold of one today and I screwed it in where the sensor would of been directly above the oil filter. From cold start I got about 80psi On idle. Is that right? Seems a little high.

Sounds about right from memory, was that hot or cold.

Right I'm here now having a look at the car and I'm getting different readings on
Idel it's around 50psi for a cold start :/ i have taken the oil temp sensor off the back of the head and I get the same reading there. So I take it the oil pump is working ok? Sorry for all my questions just really worried about recking the engine

I'd say it sounds good, as it doesn't drop going up top, but seriously, search 'oil pressure' etc and you'll find the results that will confirm everything, including what cable goes to which sensor, which might be all it is!!!

right had a looks for the oil pressures and its given me some peace of mind. but i'm still having a problem with the oil light.

i tried grounding out both of the oil sensors wires and  the light still flashes.

i have tested the wires from the clocks to the oil sensors and both of them defiantly have no breaks in them.

i have also tried a second set of clocks to check that was not the problem.

i have been looking through the Haynes manual and from what i can work out there's number 43 relay that sits on top of the fuse box that controls the oil sensors is that correct?

cheers

does the light come on when you switch ignition on and hen go off when you start the car. or does the oil light not come on at all and then it buzzes past 2k?

once i turn the ignition on it comes on and stays on even with engine running. it did buzz over 2k but does not now, even with the sensors unplugged with i think is strange

yeah there was a number 20 something i used from my 8v fusebox that had the same pins, still no luck maybe it's the wrong one i will try and get a 43 tomorrow. well im assuming it controls something to do with the oil sensors so i can make out from haynes.
