Wheel Arch Sub Boxes

Anyone know where you can buy a Sub box that fits under the speaker shelf in the boot...

Been offered some New custom builds on ED38 but the guy is a complete "Tool" and wants £175.00 for the sub box and £125. for a stowage compartment on the drivers side... When I asked what I got for the money other than a wooden box with some carpet on it - He took the huff... What a PLANK!!

Fed up with the sub getting in the way in the boot...

Mate to be fair its not an easy job and takes a lot of time to get right. If you wana save pennies build one yourself, i personally wouldnt sell one for less than £125 if i made them.

To be fair if you have made one that fits well its a peice of piss to knock loads more out as you have the template

Not looking to save a few pennies... Just wanted to know what I get for the money... Not an unreasonable request.. For all I know it could be a shaped plank of driftwood with a bit of carpet on it... This bloke is supposed to be in Business selling these items - so should be used to being asked questions from potential customers...

It's not rocket science at the end of the day..

I 'think' I know the gentleman in question, and if you have a look at JV's Rallye thread you will see the quality of the builds he does.

It can be seen as quite expensive, but when I had my old Mk2 done by Sextons in Reading, it was hell of a lot more than the prices he has quoted you.

I have no problem with paying the money - When I know what I'm getting... God knows how he keeps a business going with his attitude... Hence why I'm now looking for someone else's products or failing that I will make my own...

What do you expect him to say? 'Its made of wood, glue, carpet, speaker terminals, maybe some tails inside to connect to sub'? I'd say the clue is in 'carpeted sub box to fit mk2'

Don't be so obtuse...  :rolleyes:

Of course I have an idea of what it "could" made of - I'm not a complete pillock... But for £300.00 I wanted more info - as I said it's not much to ask...

It could have been made of Fibreglass with an MDF front, All MDF, or it could be just a plank with a fecking hole in it that covers the gap....
