Better to sort it now then let it get any worse! My sills aren't in great shape but they aren't that rusty thankfully!
Take them off IF you are changing the wheels. Otherwise leave them on, storm grey mk3s looks so mean with the arch trims Hell I'd keep them even with different wheels just for the aggressive look.
