Basically the questions in the title.

If youve done it yourself whats the shopping list and prices.

Just looking if its viable for a summer project while I use my cabrio for the warmer weather.

I think this has been asked a few times before, and the answer usually is

Too much, buy a 1.8t and put that in instead

Yep 1.8t is the better option.

The thing is to do the job to the correct standard including standalone management plus all the extra parts will end cosing the same if not more than fitting a 1.8t.

Okay, admittedly we have all been there. Don't want to part with our motor, want some more power so lets ask/research about turbo/supercharging the 8v..

It's a stupid question, the price you could spend doing that would be the same as doing it to the 16v or even the VR6 same money more power..Okay people aren't asking for financial advise, but when we are in a society were things are getting expensive, you want the best for the least.

By all means go down that route, we're just trying to advise you that you can get more for your money

Jumping on this thread lol
I really want to super charge my 8v gti as it's only done 29,000 miles and I really want it to look like vw made a mk3 G60.
Could I use any G60 parts to do this?
Or is it all custom bespoke work?
I ain't worried about what is cheaper or what is better. I want a mk3 golf 2.0 8v G60

You would be better to fit a G60 lump tbh, I would add that a G60 would not be my choice as the superchargers need a lot of looking after.
