Maybe it was sticking with a bit of r-tech super glue , either way forge are sending me a maintenance kit with yellow spring with grease etc...

What I don't get is you guys are defending away, yet a member on here has confirmed they never checked the cars over etc... Yet only some off you's have put yourselves in my shoes and can understand how it feels and I'm sure your opinion would change if the same had happened.

IMO the facts are.

If the DV spring was missing from day one which I think was 3rd October 2009 then the car would have felt much slower and would have been poor running, lumpy and laggy, with idle poor like its got a TB fault, the turbo would not spool or make a sound down low and some stupid low MPG. You would have came back to us saying the car was much slower down low and had not torque or was much more laggy, but you have been very very happy with the car.

Its only until you start messing around with the turbo intake pipe and air box in the same area as the DV you start to get running issues 2 years after the remap which we carried out? which I think most the forum members would agree something dont add up right here?  The only time the car will start to run poor is at the time there was no spring in the DV which seems to be around the time you had been working on the boost and induction system.    Or even a quick phone call, PM or text when this started to happen I could have helped you or even got you a spring wacked in the post to help you out.  But having a rant only dragged it out as i have only just been pointed to this topic today.

If I was you I would have a look down the back of the engine on the sub frame as its easy to remove the cap of the DV and the spring sticks in the cap with the grease then drops of down the back of the engine without knowing (fact).  I have done this a few time while checking customers DV to seen which spring they are running, and for a split second it seems there was never a spring in the DV only until I twig it stuck to the cap and dropped out..lol.

As for you not having a diagnostics, ( I rembmebr the day well and was on the phone to Ben during the remap, asking about your car and the office builder and to see if North east gti Matt had popped down for is set of nology spark plugs) (in most cases I can remmber customer reg number 3 year later..lol as each customer means something and not just a quick profit)  Ben called me to ask where the vagcom laptop was, but me and Chris had this with, which meant he had to use the generic OBD2 ISO built into our Optican remapping too software,> http://optican.blogspot.com/2007/09/new-software-from-optican.html  which checks DCTs, rediness, adaptions and fuel trims prior to the remap being flashed to your car.

Ben did carry out the tests and was happy with the car, with the engines cover off he can see, the vac lines, injectors seal, and PCV pipes which where all fine and showed no signs of investigating any more in that area, plus with the scancan lead built in to our optican mapping  he checked the OBD2  dct flags, rediness flags and add/mult fuel trims. If there was fuel trim issues then more time would have been spent on the car and diagnostics, then even a smoke test to pin point the cause of bad trims.  We wont just waste time plugging in the smoke tester when the trims are 0%.   Like we keep saying we will do 30-40+ 1.8t each month we know all the signs and smells..lol  Within 3 seconds of lifting up a 1.8T bonnet a can tell straight away if there are any leaks or issues just by sight, sound and smell, if all seems ok a quick read of fuel trims should back this up.  If the car had issues you would have been told and you would have had running issues after the remap or within the 2 years of having the remap carried out.   So dont worry you have not been miss sold or left out.. its just we are good at what we do. If we not I came be sure we would have many 100S of unhappy customers but all we get is > http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/270216.aspx

And count yourself lucky your car was fault free..  We send many many customer home without a remap as we refuse to tune cars with fault, or we could have kept you there 3  ot 4 hours longer trying to pinpoint faults or fixing the car (£FOC) until its safe to remap, which would have wasted your day.

It seems you miss read what was going on during the remap session,  Ben was too quick for you. If you think you missed out on something back in 2009 , then your more than welcome to bring your car to us for a rolling road session, and another check up £FOC.

I am sorry you hear your not happy with our service, but at the end of the day is the car that matters to us andif the car was unfit you would have had 2 years of HELL with your car, but the fact is from readinf all your posts since 2009 you have been VERY happy with your car and the R-Tech remap.

Our feedback is good becuase we care about customers cars and making sure they are safe to remap, if not safe to remap we always give a bloody good detailed reason why.  If I was to just flash a map to every car and not worry or check them I am sure we would NOT me at the top of the VW Golf tuning game.

Please can you point out what more could we have done to your car during the remap session?

What I don't understand are these facts:

The DV was dissassembled on a table which you ignored completely when I told you. Instead you are certain I unscrewed it and it fell down the bay, or a bright yellow spring stuck on the cap.  Even though this was not the case as mentioned. It has never been taken apart till now. Even though AMD and Tuneside have said forge have made mistakes and forgot springs.

Blaming the air box geometry is wide fetched, the air box has just been been pivoted on one of the mounting points by a few degree and only causing the TIP too need too stretch a bit more. Thats like saying if you bend an induction pipe at the TIP too face a different angle/direction by a little bit it will cause problems (even though an induction pipe forces the upper end of the TIP to be in a slightly different position than the oem airbox and no-one has experienced problems with induction pipe kits).

Then ben asked have we scanned our cars as he can't do and will miss it out. Not notified after that they have been scanned as you have advised had happened.

Why was the other times I tried to get an explanation I just got slid to the side and only now you finally give an explanation in detail and now actually offering assistance. It only seems when a problem becomes public do you get involved and waver support.

This arguement can go on and on but since contact was made before and your not reading what I explained I can't see the point off arguing further. Your saying I lost the spring, I'm saying it was not present... your saying the cars where diagnosed, I got told it wasn't... its one word against another and due to the time scale impossible to prove. Best scenario for me is not too use you as it seems for what I paid and the support I got was not worth its weight in gold, I now know from my experience not too use your business.

Thanks for the offer.
