I can understand the frustration but not even calling them first to see what they have to say or will do before ranting seems liek your jumping the gun a bit  :undecided:

+1.  It could just be a simple mistake.  Just because you do the same thing day in day out doesn't mean you don't cock up every once in a while.  Fair thing to do would be to give them a bell and let them sort it out,.

Btw, springs are free from Forge!  I rung them up and asked for another and they posted it free of charge!

i think golf-sib has raised this before, so its not just jumping the gun and coming out with this.

Im sure he said at the time that he wasnt too happy and felt let down.

The spring issue could have easily have been made, nicked from that for another, but should have been replaced, everyone knows this.

If i took a part from another at my work, i would always check that it had been rectified before selling on.

However, my experience there was great and i will be going back again, undoubtedly.

Feel for you Golf-sib as you have a bad experience, but r-tech would not get this kind of praise if this kind of incident happened reguarly. Thats how reputation gets lost.

Im sure you must just have caught someone on a bad day

I know with any company its the worst thing to happen when everyone says great things then you go and it goes pete tong

ive used R tech before when I had my 1.8t and nothing but praise from me and loved what they did to my car

but pick up the phone talk to them or leave a msg and see what they say

I contacted them before saying I weren't happy and they said the excuse I wrote earlier which is they worked on 100's of cars yada yada they know what they are looking for. Even though they didn't scan it or give any visual inspections on neither cars, which is contradictory to saying they know what they are looking for without looking. They just plugged in, mapped it drove it and said its fine.

Now to find the spring missing is disappointing, but if they did the work carefully they would of scanned the cars, they would of visually inspected the car, I can understand a small mistake like a spring, but they never picked it up on the driving the car(s). Instead I got a poor excuse the first time round which makes me think, "why bother!", no compensation, which I am not bothered about, but instead I felt I got bent over and thrusted. If you pay for any work to be done, you'd expect it to be done to a good standard, from plastering to plumbing etc instead it was the opposite.

On top of that, for the sake of just a spring to get another poor excuse and hassle seems pointless from my previous experience already.

I rather ring forge and get a spring as it seems less hassle as bobbarly suggested

R-tech are fine mate.

I have had my car mapped there about 3-4 times now and not once did it get diagnosed before being loaded with the map. When they put the car on the rollers to get mapped they normally do a standard power run first which they would pick up any problems from.

The only time i have had diagnostic work is after they noticed an issue and scanned for codes and also smoke test to diagnose the fault.
I aint defending them about your car mate and yes no re-circ valve spring would have shown up as you wouldnt be getting much/if any boost when under load.

Its bad you had a bad experience Sib and you and your mate may have been 2 out of say 100 customers. hope you get it sorted fella.

On the other thing you mentioned on going to AMD, if you had you would have been more out of pocket and the map wouldnt have been as good.

i agree R-tech will sort out the spring for him , but the thing he concern is they advertise and mention it on here that every car they remap they will do scan for codes, smoke test and clean TB and when he mention that to R-tech ,R-tech comes up with this lame answer ... (we work 100s of these car so will know they running right or not)
