+1 Hulmie.

Im sure R-tech would have sorted the issue, everyone makes mistakes and Rtech wont be an exception.  Reading the rest of the reviews about Rtech and being a customer myself i think you case was a minority!

Rtech run a few tests using VAGCOM and this would show up any problems with the car before they start.  If nothings wrong then why take it apart..... seems like a waste of time to me.  As for me they noticed my MAF was giving off false readings so they kindly lent me a spare one until i ordered another one from VW.  Also my requested and actual boost was different so they did a smoke test.  Im sure they wouldnt have smoke tested if the boost was fine..... would you?

10/10 for Rtech in my opinion

They actually used vag-com? Never got that on niether cars, luckily me and my friend both have vag-com and keep check off the cars.

I can understand people wanting to defend r-tech, but the fact nothing was done in diagnostics, a poor excuse, followed by the DV issue I found later does not help. As a consumer its not good, if I paid £100 for it I wouldn't mind but for a lot more its dissappointing. Its a shame people jump on the defence wagon because they had a good experience and never listen to other issues.

They didn't check my car over either physically or by plugging it in either, just loaded the map and took the money.

Pretty dangerous but hey, seem they only bend over backwards for people who go there alot  :undecided:

i didnt nor do i go there alot, my 1st time for a map from them they did an awesome job, fully diagnosed my car before even attempting to load a map onto it , they even let me test drive my car alone after the map and without paying them the money first so i could of f**ked of with a free map , my experience with them was A+++++ nothing bad to say about there service or there after service care.

Mick, yeah i did the same to!

Golf-sib, yeah i understand what your saying.  Maybe i was the only car booked in for the afternoon and they took their time,  But they were pretty toppers when you took your car in and they wanted you in and out?

Have you contacted Rtech to express your disapointment?  Im sure they would probably do something to compensate the mistake.

Hope you get everything squared away and enjoy your new FMIC

They drove it after and said its fine. On the day it was not busy only a silver golf turned up later.

I will get in contact and see what they say, but I know they don't always reply to emails.

I can understand the frustration but not even calling them first to see what they have to say or will do before ranting seems liek your jumping the gun a bit  :undecided:

I know with any company its the worst thing to happen when everyone says great things then you go and it goes pete tong

ive used R tech before when I had my 1.8t and nothing but praise from me and loved what they did to my car

but pick up the phone talk to them or leave a msg and see what they say
