Hi All,

My mates OBD2 vr6 has been playing up something terrible the last week or so,

Basically its not idling properly, so struggling, when you leave the engine on it basically cuts out before the ecu must stop it then shoots the revs back up to 1000rpm but does then finally die

Acceleration is non existant, theres no response what so ever and when it does finally catch up its so underpowered

The engine was rebuilt a little while back now, since this problem has developed we have changed the following

ECU Relay
Fuel pump relay
Fuel filter
Plugs
Leads
Coilpack

The lamba was fitted not long ago now, it does have a custom exhaust on it straight through, so my only concern is its sooted up the lamba.

Does anyone have any other possible ideas please?

:)

Thanks

i doubt its a lambda issue, mine was mounted in such a way it wasnt analysing the exhaust gasses so might aswell have been disconnected. The car drove fine but used loads of fuel and failed MOT emissions test.

Have you compression tested it?

I don't think a semi will give the same results

did you check the vacum hose on the fuel regulator

also is the crank shaft breather pipe split or blocked in any way

maybe a rad hose is blocked or not block but not flowing to well

I would get it compression tested as the next step.

Hvent had chance to get it tested yet unfortunately as its worked on by the phirm so hes adement on taking it back there lol,

thing is, if you disconnect the bttery for ten, then plug it back on it works fine for a while, Im thinking sensor and fault codes or a bust ecu :/

who knows eh but thanks for your replies everyone
