« on: 08 May 2011, 00:27 »

was hit in the car (focus, daily) to day while waiting at a roundabout i was stationary waiting to turn left. i was indicating and had the handbrake on. enough force to pop the radio out dash! the car is a write off as the boot floor is all crumpled in and boot lid bent.

where do i stand with the insurance side of things?

Completely not at fault. Other driver's insurance should cover the whole cost.

yup, the stupid person who hit you is totally at fault for driving without due care and attention. how's your neck? is it sore? If so go to the doctors as soon as possible and get it recorded. It may help with future claims for injuries. Whiplash doesn't become apprant until a couple of days later.

And we wonder why insurance keeps on rising with comments like that.

Nope the reason insurance is going up is due to idiots rear ending people due to lack of care and attention.

Plus he's right, it isn't obvious always until 1-2 days later and can require Physio if serious enough...depends on the force of impact and person on receiving end.

(4 non fault accidents only 1 whiplash claim BTW)

Main reason insurance's has gone up a lot recently is because stupid people can't drive in snow...

Don't worry, the insurance company more than makes up for it with the pitiful write-off settlement offers.
