You can but Im not a fan of them tbh as if the piston is slightly seized or even tight then you need to be putting quite a bit of force into trying to push the piston back whilst attempting to wind the bugger back on the ratchet.
At least with an actual wind back tool they have a plate that sits inside the caliper in-place of the pads that forces against itself whilst threading outwards to push the piston back / open. Much easier to use in my opinion.
