Right people need a little advice i have a vag-com code on my 97 r reg 16v abf, which is 01276. After using the SEARCH option on here i know theres a problem with the abs pump!  Although this could be fuse related i havn't checked yet because i broke my wrist 3 weeks ago and cant do sod all

Anyway all i want to know really is i have a 96 p reg 8v with the same 288mm brake set up which looks very similar indeed. So will the pump and unit underneath be the same do you think? Has anyone other than the ones ive read on the search options had this error and know of any other small fixes it could be ?

Just to let you know i have an error code for every speed sensor on each wheel aswell, which i can only assume is because the pump isn't working? definately have no abs and need this sorted asap  The brakes are very good however with up rated vented disks and green stuff pads all round they just lock up under heavy braking

No problems, cannot see there being any difference between 8v and 16v.

  • Back in a Mk3...
I have checked my sources and it does list a different pump between the 8 and 16v models due to the 16v having t.c.s

The listing isn't 100% clear so double check the part numbers as my russian isn't that good so I may of got lost in translation!  (I think 8v ends in 117 and the 16v as 217)

I was also under the impression that the 16v shared the same one as the VR6 which is slightly different to the 8v?

Ah ok then so it may not be possible after all  but still worth a look just in case  cheers guys one way or another i'l need them part numbers  may have to source a proper 16v which shouldn't be a problem on here  i'm just hoping the 8v would fit as im breaking two 8's at the mo and would save me some penny's

Alright guys well update i have checked my 16v part number being 1H2 614 217 D and my 8v being 1H2 614 117 C so i take it this is no good because of the difference in 217 D and 117 C

Anyway seen this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170628022035&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT he saids in his ad it will fit all including vr6 etc but i think hes telling porkies  definately need one as ive checked every other thing so far  what do you think?
