MK3 GTI Anni project VR6 Conversion
« on: 29 April 2011, 20:18 »
Hi all thought id get a project thread up and get some advice and comments :)

This is how i got given the car about 2 months ago, it had no tax or mot as it was being used on the track, it got used once in the end lol and just sat on my boss's drive! so when i got it is was sort of a mess with fadded trims bits of rust, a hole in the drivers rear foot well and just needed a good clean etc as it was all moldy inside!

Right so the spec when i got it

-Drilled, grooved vented disc's all around
-EBC Green stuff pad's all around
-FK Coilovers
-Standerd anni BBS wheels
-De-badged grille
-Goodridge braided break hose's all around
-Racing break fluid
-Jetex full Twin exit exhaust
-Cobra bucket seat (drivers side)
-Sparco harnness
-Stripped interior
-MOMO Steering wheel
-Rear upper strut brace
-And a box full of bits and a garage full of seats, trim etc lol

So the 1st thing i did was do the general pre mot checks putting it for a mot, i ended up having to replace:

-Off side top mount was fooked
-off side lower ball joint was fooked
-the head lights had been painted black and the person f**ked the adjusters so 2 new head lights!
-near side rear light
-wiper arm broken so just de-wiperd the back
-and got the welding sortid

and that was prity much it to get it through the MOT :)

Only got a couple pics at the moment of how i got it

the guy my boss got this car from was a member on here i think the car had a private plate on it which was P666 DUB not sure if this car is known or any thing.

any coments :)

Cheers

Matt
