Why you planning on taking it off the road?

Im looking at getting a mk5 tdi as a new daily, so thinking of either sticking it up for sale while theres still a bit of tax on it, or making it into a bit of a project, am building a mTDI lump for a mates caddy at the mo which will be about 200 odd bhp so thinking of building something similar to put in it.

That howmanyleft.com sounds reliable cus he gets his info from the Dept of Transport. Can't see him taking the time to get all that info online and it not being backed up, but could be wrong.

Maybe but I know on other forums the numbers have been looked into and have been a long way out.

However if only 750 were made then that figure sounds about right.

What would be interesting is that did VW really only make 750 for all the markets or was it 750 for the uk only

I knownof 2 more in notts being broken a 16v and a 8v.

When i  hecked earlier in year there was over 280 odd 8vs left so there has been  a sharp fall this year.

Im realy tempted to get rid of my own for a jetta mk2 but its tge fact that they may increase in value soon thats making me want to keep her. Only have go look at how much oak green mk2s fetched and they where not tgat rare lpl

Yesterday, before I was getting pissed, I changed the wing mirrors on e car back to red ones, finally no more crappy black paint job.

Also, went to Bristol in the morning to go shopping. I managed to get some good MPG out of Ruby too.

And who says 8vs are crap....?

Hadn't cleaned Ruby for a loooong time so decided to do it this weekend. Not a full on clean but just bathed her.

Inside is all clean now too. Can't believe the state it gets in sometimes.

More importantly, sorted out the busted bulb for the heater controls. What a ballache. It's easy enough just fiddly. Also sorted the parcel shelf strap that was broken, by buying a new one.

Finally, the car is now running silky smooth after a well deserved service.

Next thing is the wheels which still need to be done, but I'm not in a massive rush just yet.

Fell through, I had other things I wanted to do and stop do before tying down to a big commitment like that. Plus Ruby is is much better condition than when you last saw her now. :)
