Thanks Brad. :afro:

I've just gone and got a couple bits for the car off another Anni being broken. Mines becoming rarer and rarer by the day.

69 16v's and 233 8v's according to howmanyleft.com shady, and the rate they are being broken on ebay that number will be dwindling.

the website updates every 3 months and im getting a bit obsessed with it!!!

Doubt that is right, how many 8 valves were made?

Got to be a lot more than 233 left  :undecided:

750 8v's, 150 16v's and 100 TDIs (European only, not in the UK).

It wouldn't surprise me if there were only 233 odd 8v's left considering the state you see most MK3s of this age. I just robbed some parts from one that is now being broken due to failing an MOT and I know there is a black one in Yeovil and it looks like a shed! That will most likely be off the road soon.

So I think seeing as mine is in pretty good nick I'm going to keep her and make sure she stays in a respectable condition, I know they are worth bugger all at the moment but soon enough when they are really few and far between it will be worth something.

Plus it's red, best colour. :smug:

Mine is one of the 8vs left. Might be coming off the road next year tho and really not sure what to do with it.

Why you planning on taking it off the road?

That howmanyleft.com sounds reliable cus he gets his info from the Dept of Transport. Can't see him taking the time to get all that info online and it not being backed up, but could be wrong.

If you go on ebay at any given time there will be an anni being broken cus they are worth more in bits than whole at the moment. But i think by the time everyone has broken all the tatty ones and only the ones in good nick are left, they will be worth keeping hold of.

The VW scene has a habit of paying premium prices for rarer stuff, as we all know. I was flicking through an 8 year old Golf magazine the other day and the classifieds at the back had mk1's going for £1000-£1500. You won't get a decent one for less than £4k.

And shady, red isn't the best colour dude, its definatley black...

Agreed mate. No doubt these bad boys will be worth something (one day).

Btw, black is whack, red is red....
