no, its all in that ring arrangement. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but my old car was a 94 with no immob and had no ring. My new one is a 97 with an immob and has this ring. I'm thinking 2+2=4

This is a similar situation to me. I had a '94 valver, it had no ring and now my '96 Anni does. As the barrel is dodgy I was thinking of using the valver's old one as I know that didn't have a problem.

My other thought now is I have a spare key from the valver, I'm not sure if it has a chip in it or not but I want to get it recoded to the Anni as I only have 1 key.

I wouldn't have thought the valver's key would have a chip in it full stop, and therefore couldn't get it programmed for your anni.
I'm sure a key cutters could cut you the key for the barrel and program a chip for the anni no problem.

I only had one key for mine when i got it, the spare had been bent clean in half, so was useless. Got a quote for £45 for a new key. part of the reason I went for the rclick central locking kit in the end, two free key blanks the key cutters did for free. Just cut my bent key up to get at the chip and stuck it in

The 1994 will not have a chip, so you will need to get a new coded key cut to suit.

Supprised you left the steering wheel on, easier with it removed.

I found it easier with it on, it gives something to pull from when removing, and something to push on when putting it back.

I need my nearside front wheel bearing replaced. I can source the part for £20. A local garage want £80 to do it, but it needs to be done as I have a very distracting humming noise coming from that location now. I had the car jacked up and there is a fair bit of play in the wheel.

£80 sound good? That's VAT included. Another garage wanted £113 before VAT.

Whack the hub off and take it down to the garage with the bearing, someone in there will press a new one in for a tenner if you don't ask for a receipt.
