The idea that someone sitting at the traffic lights, pulls up their handbrake and puts the car in neutral, to avoid blinding the driver behind them with their brake lights, is an alien concept down-under. The majority of Australian owned cars are automatics, and no-one is taught or encouraged to ever put at auto in 'n' at the lights. When the lights go green in Sydney, you need to move and do it quickly, to the next set of lights 400metres down the road, no time for putting your foot back on brake, selecting d, etc, etc.......... no Sydney drivers aren't renown for their consideration of others.
