I don't think I would want to keep it either if it happened to me to tell the truth, really sorry for you mate.

Does it get recorded now as a stolen recovered??

One of the things that pee's me of the most with this as its probably put you off from ever wanting a GTI again. I know my mrs would want me to get rid of the car as well.

One bit of advice i would give to all GTI owners is, if possible lock your car in a garage when its not in use.

I would think carefully about this and not let it be a knee-jerk reaction. They could have stolen another if it was parked in the same place. Yes, the GTI seems to be a thief magnet, but we knew this when we got our cars.

Decide when you get it back and drive it and see how you feel then.

I'd second that. Selling up is like letting them win. The people that stole your car are simply low life scum.

It's pointless us working hard to enable us buy nice things if we don't due the fear of what these people may or may not do. I am a firm believer in "what goes around, comes around" and one day something very nasty will happen to the people that took your car.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
