I'd second that. Selling up is like letting them win. The people that stole your car are simply low life scum.

It's pointless us working hard to enable us buy nice things if we don't due the fear of what these people may or may not do. I am a firm believer in "what goes around, comes around" and one day something very nasty will happen to the people that took your car.
To a degree this is quite true Simon, these scum do get what comes round in the end. I have family that work both in the Police and Social Services and I'm familiar with some of the stories (though no names obviously to protect the guilty).
These people mix in certain circles and their lives take familiar patterns. It may seem like they get away with a lot & with little punishment when they are young and prolific, but life quickly catches up with these people and they end up with pretty empty unenviable lives.

None of this compensates their victims though, but time is a healer and time does the opposite to the perpetrators.

Simon,

Don't enable this low life scum to change your lifestyle and thereby win.
I know full well the kind of trauma you and your family are enduring.

It's all a bit raw at the moment, but as said earlier, time is a great healer.

Don't let the b@stards win, ever.

All my best wishes.

Two baseball bats found behind drivers seat and rcd510 had been tuned to a local reggae station, gives you some idea of the type of people that stole this car.,on the up side police say it looks to be still in very good condition, Whether it’s up to what we would call good condition remains to be seen.
P.S i must say that the police have been very good and kept us well informed and the first P.C onsite after the break in did a wonderful job of calming down the children .

Easy for me to say as it hasn't happened to me.

I wouldn't let them dictate what car you choose.
Any car is a target, the more high value the more of a target.

Even old bangers get nicked as they're easy to get into also bland plain cars as the thieves want to blend in.

Karma will come to them in the end.

When will you be able to see your car? The sooner the better so that you can draw a line one way or another.
I feel quite upset and angry for you.

Not sure at the moment as the car is 40 miles away in a police compound,i have no keys for it and the insurance company are not working untill tuesday ,they will have to arrange for it to be transported to a repair shop near me.
I will check it out before and after any repairs that will be needed but im not sure when i will be able to do this at the moment.

Firstly my condolences to Simon, you and you family seem to have been very shaken up and rightly so.

My mk2 almost got nicked 6 months ago. They gained entry but the alarm scared them off. I'm sure it was joyriders as another 2 vehicles were targetted in our village in the same evening, one with ignition barrel damage and another was stolen. I'm guessing mine was targetted because:
a) mk2's are easy to gain entry into and hotwire
b) it was parked in a dark area

TBH as nothing was stolen from inside and there was very little damage done, it has only made me want to keep the car more, almost as if it's an 'up yours' to the b*stards!

On the flip-side I had all sorts stolen out of my old fiesta, and the car never felt the same again. I hated the feeling of someone else going through all my private stuff!

Only you will know if it feels 'right'.

I don't think a semi will give the same results
