In answer to the OP's question - YES! VW have done just that! Well both actually! :rolleyes:

But you couldnt afford it let alone the insurance!

Can you? Yes. Have people done it? Yes. Has anyone here done it? I did a lot of research into it as I was hoping to do the conversion and drop it into an old skool Polo, but it in the end the cost of doing so would buy you and insure you on several GTIs  :grin:

Tut tut!! You do realise that if u had an accident, and even if someone went into you, u wouldnt be insured. Not a very good idea AT ALL!! And certainly not a good idea advertising the fact on here!  :angry:

The cost of the conversion would still vastly outweigh insurance, nevermind the consequences of getting caught uninsured.
