Might be worth getting some more of the sound proofing off as heat travels.

yer he picture taken wasn't quite when i finished as i did remove all sound proofing so the risk is lessened and tbh i dont intend on putting it back in anyways only the front carpet is going in as sound proofing weighs too much for my liking

if in doubt go flat out

Car looks amazing now polished up!

Shame about the clutch cable eating your car, I though it was only MK1 golfs that did that!... My last one did, put the extra repair piece in this one before it had a chance to do it!

love it, one of my fave dubs behind the mk2 golfs.

yours looks lovely though, what they like to drive btw as tempted to get one later in the year as got a thing for white ones lol

thanks rich and i think there beautifull cars aswell and i saw a white one in grimsby a few months back and it was awsome..

and to drive i love it its really forgiving and easy to drive verry comfortable ( unless you go too low on the coilovers and dont adjust the bump stops :/ ) but there is a problem caused from the low roof line wich means if ur anywere near 6ft tall ur head will become part of the roof lining but i fitted some reclining bucket seats and now theres loads of head room....

i think you should get one as i dont see enuf about tbh

its def on the cards  want to get one before they dissapear and theres no decent ones left

well i've done it again and not updated my thread for ages like usual and suprise suprise its gunna be another update including the work done due to yet another break down but this one being on a lager scale so here goes .....

well since i sorted out the clutch cable eating my bulkhead situation my car had been fine for a good 3 weeks ... them 3 weeks in wich i was using my car for dragging work equiptment about as my boss was on holiday and it had a pronound effect on many things and braught on a brake down ....

so to cut a long story short i was home to grimsby from louth 3 maybe 4 weeks after fixing the last problem and my clutch went slipping like mad with no adjustment left on the cable to a limped my car home the 18 miles that were ahead of me. luckily for me though a good freind martin had a spare clutch i could have so he donated it to me with a spare gearbox he had wich would then put my engine back on the box it should have in it so we set to work getting it sorted....

so here goes with some pictures ... starting with the donated clutch and gearbox removed from martins old engine...

then the driveshafts disconected and suspention half removed for later bumpstop adjustments

and gearbox supported ready for final removal

and the gearbox is out and new clutch assembly fitted :)

then randon and probably not relevant but a wasp claimed martins drink so thaught y not take a picture

then after getting the new box in and set up we then had to tackle my completely shot bushes and i dint see any point in replacing with sh!tty standard bushes so i baught myself a full set of pollybushes and set to fitting them..

then the time came to 'adjust' my bumpstops and roll my arches so i could go lower and after the rolling but before the lowering i tried on martins 13's to see what they look like on my car and i do rather like them allot and a quick picture...

then a picture of the massive arch gap i have after lowering another 20mm and putting my wheels back on ...

and another lowered pic cuz i like it :)

then before going for a test drive to make sure verything is good my wheel bearing locked up sollid and i thaught it was f**ked so baught a set of bearings and set to changing them..

but on removal of the hub my bearing was fine it was the circlip that had came loose and the bearing worked its self out of the hub and pulled everything tight so we fixed that and back on the road i was again :)

all up untill about 3/4 hours later when i broke down again with carburettor issues and had no choice but to push my car in a random estate in grimsby and leave it there over night :/

but got my car back the next day cleaned out my carb and all is well again ....FOR NOW
