Surface Rust

Just waxed my mk4 and realised there is a very slight patch of what appears to be surface rust on front wing. Its probably around 2cm long and comes above t he lip of the arch by about 1cm and is currently pretty faint (but apparent enough for me to spot)

Any idea what i should do with this? is it a fairly standard and cheap job to get a paint shop to touch it up or will they have to re=paint the whole arch?

Strip off the arch liner as it could be coming from behind where it clogs up with crud, gets wet and rusts.

To prep and paint a panel you are normally looking at £100+vat per panel, but these little mobile guys who specialise in scratches and dents might be a bit cheaper.

they are cheaper for a reason... if you're going to get the job done then get it done and blended properly instead of sprayed over with a rattle can and dried with a hairdryer... the job will only last six months

thats fair enough... but its hardly OCD expecting your hard earned cash to last more than six months or so... it comes back to you buy cheap you buy twice

OCD would be paying for a spray job and going back ten times until they get it right  :lipsrsealed:

I'd personally rather the job lasted more than 6 months!

So realistically i am looking around £100? I might strip the wheel arch liner to have a clean and get some wax oil up there this weekend.
