Hi dubbers! got a pretty weird problem with my cars ignition wiring to the headunit. Ive had my mk3 8v for a year now and have finally got round to changing the naff headunit i bought it with. The headunit has always stayed on after the ingition is switched on so i was expecting to see everything hard wired wrong and badly when i took it out.
I was suprised to see that when i took the old one out it still had the original iso plugs plugged in with no cables cut or joined anywhere. So i thought it was a bit weird. I put the new one in and it came on straight away with the ignition off and when i turned the ignition on it turned off.
Of course i know what the problem is here its a case of switching the permanent live with the switch live am i right? What i want to know is how the hell they got switched in the first place if it still has the original iso plugs there? Also anyone know what colours the live and switch live are?
